Tree with a robotic arm.

This is the painting of an idea. In stead of a side branch this tree has a robotic arm that gets part of its energy from the tree. A cow is watching.

  • Dimensions: 40 x 50 x 2,3 cm 15,74 x 19,65 x 0,91 inch HxBxD
  • Painting: Acryl on canvas
  • Original, without frame
  • Signed
  • Comes with a certificate of authenticity
  • Completed February 2020

Test setups are sometimes funny. Take, for example, the vigorous testing of a travel suitcase at the quality control department of the manufacturer. Such a suitcase has a hard time and sees all corners of the test room. You actually see suitcase use in extremes and that can be funny.

This painting is more of a cartoon in that respect. Why would you move a parsnip through four fairy benches with a robotic arm with a logo on the gripping mechanism? Can a robotic arm attached to a tree use the tree's energy to function? To really make the painting to see how such an experiment could look like in a given environment is fun. It could also lead to new ideas of course.
This is an image of a test idea with as many natural materials as possible. The modified nautilus shell serves as a pump housing. The extraordinary thing here is that the sap flow from the tree drives the pump, which in turn drives the generator.

Under the top fairy bench, elf bench, sits the generator - the moss green box - that supplies the electrical energy to the robot arm.
The electricity yield is still low, but it looks promising.
Unsurprisingly the help of a battery is still needed. In addition to the tree trunk, the elf benches serve as support, too.

A robotic arm as a multifunctional side branch. Perhaps more robotic arms can be attached to a tree. A fruit tree could pick its own fruit.
Could a robotic arm pick up the useful bee to promote spring pollination? That is yet another experiment to futher automate fruit growing. In the future, instead of adding more energy than is harvested, one could perhaps harvest in two ways: the crop itself and extra energy from the tree. It is clearly a new area of research.

There is a small robot sitting in the grass, a tracked vehicle, next to the path that keeps an eye on the immediate surroundings. It is hardly visible due to its camouflage. Camouflage is also an art. Fortunately art is better visible in most cases.

The robotic arm could warn the fruit grower about irregularities in the immediate vicinity of the tree. All in all, this can have many positive consequences for the supply chain, from harvest to consumer. A website for every apple tree where you can order apples and apple juice. The trees can show their beautiful fruits online and confirm how healthy fruit is.

It seems as if the cow in the distance perceives a particularity in its environment in its usual philosophical way, but this time that is too simple a thought. This cow on this piece of land has fallen prey to idolatrous admiration for this experiment much to its own surprise.

The future for the fruit consumer is very bright, with all these new developments, improvements in the quality of their lifes. This will make many consumers very happy.
